Manifestation: What it Is, What it Isn’t

Posted on 2026-01-152026-01-19 by alexandra

Let’s start with a simple idea I’d like you to consider, even if you don’t totally buy into it.

You are always manifesting.

As spiritual beings, we exist as part of a whole consciousness, so our individual identities are fractals of a greater All. The personality we carry is a filter by which the All sees Itself through you. Think of it as a costume one may wear in a theatrical performance. The character we play is a moment in time, a one-time event where we forget our true Self behind the temporary lesser one. There are many belief systems historically that support this notion, so this is not a new idea.

As we look upon the world and experience life through this filter, we can choose at every moment a different path, as if hiking through unfamiliar terrain. We ”shift” constantly to alternate timelines and when taking on new perspectives, or vary our thoughts to change our behavior. Our changing bodies reflect this reality and justify our alternate reality to our understanding. Every mental shift is an energetic one and as we energize ourselves with this new frequency, we attract more of the same because of the way energy works in the quantum field.

So when I say we are always manifesting, that’s what we do by nature of our existence.

The key to manifesting what we want is to understand this: we manifest whatever we project. In essence, you must resonate with what you want before you experience it. The “wanting” something is purely subjective.  It doesn’t have to be a conscious “knowing” of what you want.  I wanted to start a new business, but I didn’t do it for years because I kept telling myself I wasn’t ready.  This limiting belief was just that, limiting my ability to create and grow the business.  By believing this, I essentially “wanted” myself to fail.  We call this self-sabotage, and we’ve all done it. But be careful.  Sometimes failure is part of the necessary steps to success.  Each failure along the way is still a success because the failure taught you something new about yourself that was needed to fully realize the goal.

The best way to understand this concept is to put it into practice. No one learns anything well until they do the work of implementing it.

  1. Consider carefully what you wish to achieve by your manifestations.   Reverse-engineer the desired outcome until you’ve determined how you have to change for this to transpire.
  2. Notice whatever your current state of mind/heart is now, as it relates to what you want to manifest.
  3. If your current mind and heart state are not in alignment with what you want, then change your thoughts and feelings until they do align. And you will know when they align because of what happens in your life. Your experiences will reflect your inner reality.

Change your mind by thinking “as if” you already think and feel that way.  Affirmations and meditation are great ways to get you there. These are actually methods for self-hypnosis, because they alter one’s perception over time. You can also surround yourself with examples that match the frequency to whatever it is you want to manifest. Maybe you can listen to music that evokes that mood. Maybe it’s watching movies or videos that encourage you to think and feel that way. It might also mean changing your relationships with other people who might not resonate with the frequencies you desire.  Their influence energetically is no minor factor and does require careful consideration.

The fundamental difference is realizing that to manifest what you want, it needs to come from you first. The point of the above exercises is to reprogram yourself to a different reality, and when you do this, you begin to see yourself in the situations that mirror the reality you want to manifest.

You are a creator, an artist you could say, which defines your life. Your vision will be impacted by many life circumstances, ie, place of birth, family and ancestral ties, but they do not limit you. They are reflections of choices made before you were born, which combine to form life potentialities uniquely your own. You have endless choices from this perspective by which to create a life that can align with your overall vision.

What Manifesting Isn’t

Manifestation doesn’t come from outside of you. It doesn’t occur because you made a declaration, though that may be where it begins. It doesn’t happen because of luck. There are no coincidences. It doesn’t happen because you prayed for a miracle.

There IS no outside. Because you are a fractal identity from the All consciousness, all things of our world and any world across time and space, are thoughts or ideas of a greater ever-present universal consciousness that has no other external force because It IS all there is.

So manifestation occurs every moment of every day, whether you are aware of it or not. But before you start to think of yourself as a pawn in some demented game of chess, consider all the options you have in life. The variety of choices you have before you. We may be limited to some degree by our birth and personality, but that’s the point! Without our egos, we would never be able to see life “as if” we weren’t All there is. It’s a grueling test of the Self as if to claw Its way back to true consciousness from a void of forgetfulness, but that is in essence what is happening. Your goal as a fractal of the Self is to relearn what was forgotten, and with a fresh new perspective on the One through the eyes of the All.

Even what seems like synchronistic events or coincidences are actually events that support and result from your manifestations. They are guideposts that tell you that you are on the right track.

Manifestations aren’t good or bad; they are neutral states that you judge to be good or bad. You can manifest harm to yourself or others, too. The trick is not to assume that you are solely responsible for bad events or situations that appear to happen to you. Like ”having a bad day”.  We are fractals. We are not acting independently of each other; instead, we are cohesive, interdependent, and mutually connected energetically. Others may influence the events that occur in your day. You only need to be in a traffic jam to understand that.

If you work towards a goal, you’ll achieve an outcome by setting intentions that are in alignment with your overall energy signature.  The higher frequency with which you operate, the better the outcome because higher frequencies are associated with states such as love, compassion, abundance, success, etc.  The opposite end of the scale at lower frequencies aligns with hate, heartlessness, lack, and failure, just to name a few. Your mindset and where it is on these scales determine the degree to which you and others will benefit from your manifestations.

The “you” in the tale is on a continuous journey.  The means by which you achieve anything is already gifted to you.  The question of whether you manifest what you want is only determined by the path or paths you choose to undertake.
